Breeding Information and Contract

All stallion service fees include a booking fee of $150 for that year’s service, regardless of breeding fee. Live foal guaranteed; however, a new booking fee must be paid before the next year’s breeding is performed. This nominal fee is required to reimburse cost of supplies, handling, and paper work.

Shipped semen requires a fee of $125 per shipment due to costs of handling, extra facility, materials and paper work. A disposable shipping container is used for overnight shipping at a container cost of $35. If the Hamilton 48-hour container is needed, a deposit of $250 is required. Upon receipt of the undamaged container within 72 hours, a refund will be issued, minus a $35 rental fee and any other outstanding charges. A $10 per day rental is charged after 72 hours. There will be a $10 delivery fee to the airport or to Fedex. We make every effort to ship Monday through Saturday.

We are very lenient on a live foal guarantee. If your foal dies, call us and we’ll discuss what options you have for a gratis breedback. Our goal is to produce babies and we want happy repeat customers.

The mare is booked specifically by name. The booking is valid to this mare, and may not be changed without the consent of THE LONG GREY LINE FARM. A booking fee of _______ is due at the time of booking, is not refundable, and will apply to the Service Fee.

Neither THE LONG GREY LINE FARM, nor its members, agents, nor employees shall be liable for injury, death, or disability suffered by the mare or foal at side, from any cause whatsoever, while in the custody of THE LONG GREY LINE FARM. The owner specifically assents to such conditions and waives each and every claim for damages resulting from such injury, death or disability.

All charges, including transportation, veterinary fees, board, etc shall be paid monthly by the owner of the mare on or before the tenth of the following month. Board will be charged on a daily basis of _____ per day; mare with foal at side will be _____ per day. Foaling fee will be _____. The remainder of the Service Fee is due at the time of service, and all charges will be paid before the mare leaves THE LONG GREY LINE FARM. The Breeder's Certificate will be issued upon notification of live birth of the foal.

The owner will provide proof of negative Coggins Test within the current calendar year, maximum 6 months. Mare must have current calendar year innoculations against EE/WE and Tetanus, and a recent deworming. THE LONG GREY LINE FARM reserves the right to reject any mare not in good physical condition, or of conformation or breeding incompatible with the stallion, or any mare vicious or uncontrollable.

If the mare fails to produce a live foal, return privileges will be granted the following breeding season if the mare and stallion are still living. In the event of the death of the stallion, the Service Fee will be applied to any other farm‑owned stallion.
